As the honorable successor to the 750SS, the 900SS represented one of the most fascinating superbikes of the 1970s, as it combined the impressive look of the 750SS with even greater performance. In 1979, the 900SS exchanged wire wheels for gold Campagnolo alloys and received handsome black and gold paintwork. The 900 SS was a big success for Ducati, and it was produced with only minor changes until the beginning of the 1980s. This bike is one of 1,085 European 900 SS models sold in 1981. It remains a spectacular example with optional Conti pipes. The bike’s provenance can be traced back to Motorrad Pabst Hamburg, where it was ordered on 10 November 1980.
